Bali Pesto Cafe began in April 14th,2000 in the heart of Ubud, within five minutes walk from the famous Monkey Forest.  Focusing on the goals of "Quality, Healthy, Tradition", the cafe is family operation making each dish in our own kitchen from scratch.Gusde, the owner had been studying in Europe all of his young life and had been told from his grandfather that not just keeping the delicious and authentic traditional Balinese dish but also European dish and mixing those with the perfect combination. Through hard work and dedication, Bali Pesto Cafe began building its brand both for the quality of Balinese and European dishes.

  Start with a favorite "Balinese Prawn Soup", a tropical clear prawns soup  with mixed vegetables, coconut cream, fried shallots served inside a young coconut. Our "Indonesian Lumpia" is a crispy chicken or vegetarian spring roll filled with mushroom, glass noodle, carrots served with sweet and sour sauce. One of the highlight in our menu is the famous "Pumpkin Soup", flavored with ginger, lemongrass, and coconut milk has made guests return for the experience and made it as one of the stand out dishes. It must be our secret ingredient in the soup that has created many guests come back for it.

 Moving on to our main courses. There are few favorite options for those of you that prefer Indonesian dishes such as Famous Indonesia Beef Rendang that always served with young coconut milk as the identification of food that come from Java, or looking for sauteed slice of beef tenderloin in Balinese spices served with steamed rice in our "DagingBumbu Bali" dish.

 To name few of our legendary dishes such us "Beef Scallops" which is pan friend beef scallops with garlic, roasted potatoes and rucolla. "Chicken Breast Bali Pesto", pan fried chicken breast in tomato, olive butter sauce and garlic mashed potatoes.

 Bali Pesto is famous for its pizzas--thin, crispy and 30cm in diameter. A surprise for you: "Balinese Pizza"--spicy, with chicken, beef, sambalmatah, tomato sauce, onion and mozzarella. Our "Pizza Quattro Stagioni" (Four Seasons) with ham, mushrooms, capers, olives, tomatoes, mozzarella and tomato sauce is a hit with out international clientele. If you don't feel like eating pizza there's always another option like our "Balinese Spaghetti" that earn two thumbs up from our customer because it served with coconut milk, ginger and chili sauce. Or try our "Fettuccine Balinese Style" in Balinese spices, sambal with prawn and calamari. 

The range and quality of our fresh seafood meant for grilling, barbecuing or frying make a for a dining experience worth lingering over. Think of "PepesIkan" Balinese Style--grilled, mixed seafood cooked in banana tree leaves, flavored with delicious Balinese spices. Think of"Tuna Kebabs"--grilled tuna skewers with peppers and Balinese spices. Above everything all BBQ dishes are served with mashed or French fried potatoes or rice and wok-fried water spinach and an assortment of sambal.


After a delicious repast, try our crispy friend banana "PisangGoreng" with grated coconut, vanilla ice cream & palm syrup, or two chocolate champions desserts which are "Chocolate Mousse and Coconut Cream Caramel with Ice Cream". Once you have tried this, heaven can wait.

 We have many choices for drinks. If you prefer living the Ubudian life of healthy juice and detox go for our special detox green juice or if you feel like drinking beers and chill out we have the famous cold bintang, heineken beers and local brand such as stark wheat and dark beers. We stock really wine selections. Ranging from Local Balinese Wine, Australian wine, and South African Wine. We know a lot of you appreciate a good cup of coffee too, like our Bali coffee.
