Also in the vicinity of the historic Buleleng Harbor is the colorful and beautifully constructed Chinese Klenteng (Chinese temple) Ling Gwan Kiong that is accessed via an ornate water bridge that traverses a pond filled with white and pink lotus flowers. As usual the Klenteng is dominated by the red and gold color. Gold Buddha statues and ornamentally decorated textiles are found everywhere. The surrounding walls and doors of the temple are decorated with hand-painted murals of various deities and houses many antique vases and textiles.

The name of Ling Gwan Kiong means Istana Sumber Sakti or Palace of Power, a holy place for Chinese who follow Buddhist Tridharma. It was built in the 1800’s and is dedicated to serving the three faiths of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. It's a well maintained and a beautifully painted structure. Despite being small, it really is an interesting historical place of worship that has served the Chinese community in Bali for well over 100 years.
