Located in the hilly village of Tegeha is Brahma Vihara Arama, Bali’s largest Buddhist temple that was established in 1970. The grounds feature meditation rooms, libraries, beautiful gardens and a miniature replica of Jogjakarta’s Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist archaeological site, on the most elevated level of the temple complex.

The monastery, an important pilgrimage centre provides a breathtaking view in a serene and peaceful surrounding. Perched on a slope of a hill, the Buddhist Temple and Monastery rise majestically overlooking a sea with lush green hill as a background. Peculiarly, its architecture features Balinese Hinduism ornaments.

The temple complex enjoys a wonderful hillside setting such as brilliant orange tile roof, that stands over an entrance gate guarded by  two Nagas, with a bell  tower in the corner of the middle courtyard. Every step up towards the temple has Buddha wisdom and also around the walls. A lower temple with a gold Buddha is from Thailand as a centerpiece, carved stone plaques show scenes from Buddha's life on the entire main temple.
