The most important pura of the Jembrana Regency situated on a clifftop near the village of Yehembang contains a sacred lock of hair (rambut siwi) from the Hindu high priest Danghyang Nirartha who is said to have arrived from Java in the 16th century and cured an epidemic that had afflicted the village of Gading Wani and left the lock of hair as a protective token.  In gratitude the villagers granted him the distinction of ‘the newly arrived powerful high priest (Padanda Sakti Wawu Rawuh).
