Built in the early 18th century and featuring an outer wall constructed in red brick, Pura Sada was once the sanctuary of the Mengwi kingdom.  Located behind the temple prasada are 54 seat/shrines that are said to pay homage to the 54 followers who brought the cremated remains of one of the rulers of Mengwi to be cast into the sea from a boat.  During the ceremony they perished at sea so their story was immortalized by this stone arrangement.
