Tenget” means Holy Ground. This temple is also made from white coral and is steeped in mystical power.  Built by the 16th century Hindu-Javanese priest, Sanghyang Niaratha who was said to have visited this area before he died in Uluwatu. The lovely stretch of beach in front of the temple is the location for many grand and elaborate ceremonies related to the pura.

This temple was built on a plot of land that is higher than the surrounding soil. On the western side of the temple lies a beautiful beach Peti Tenget and around the temple are many large trees and rice fields. Pura Petitenget is just beside the beach, the quiet, well-maintained Hindu temple that gives respite from the traffic below.
